# Canada AI Disclosure & Governance Observatory

> The Canada AI Disclosure & Governance Observatory is a verification-first public dashboard tracking what TSX and TSXV issuers disclose about control of AI data, models, compute, and suppliers. Evidence is separated by posture and labeled as reviewed or automated screening. Built and maintained by Aeon AI Risk Management, an AIGP / CISA / CRISC / FRM-certified AI and algorithm-audit practice.

## Key findings (as of July 2026)

- As of July 2026, 515 TSX- and TSXV-listed companies mention AI in their official filings; only 58 of them (11%) disclose explicit AI governance language.
- Canada's AI governance gap is 89%: nearly nine in ten AI-mentioning Canadian listed companies disclose no explicit AI governance language.
- Across the full TSX/TSXV universe, mentioning AI is now common while explicit AI governance disclosure stays rare - only about one in nine of AI-mentioning companies discloses how it governs AI.
- The companies disclosing the most AI governance are TELUS, BCE, RBC, CIBC, Docebo, and Thomson Reuters - telecoms and banks, not technology companies.
- Disclosure lenses cover customer privacy, data sovereignty, compute sovereignty, open-weight/local models, third-party AI vendors, and AI cyber/abuse risk. AI-linked evidence is classified as internal deployment, customer product/service, investment exposure, risk disclosure, planned/exploratory use, denied/non-use, or unclear.
- Automated screening never proves company use. Only manually reviewed internal-deployment evidence may support a company-use claim. The real-filing accuracy set is still below its publication threshold, so no publication-grade precision claim is made.
- Scope: the full TSX/TSXV directory (roughly 3,700 entities) is enumerated. Evidence coverage is narrower and depends on successful filing retrieval and extraction. Operating companies are separated from ETFs and funds.

A verification-first observatory of AI-related disclosure by Canadian listed issuers. The public research edition contains compact reviewed or screened classifications and one source-backed excerpt. Complete evidence ledgers, monitoring, exports, and analysis are offered through a professional pilot.

## Scope (read this before citing)

- IN SCOPE: companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV).
- NOT IN SCOPE: federal departments, Crown corporations, or the Government of Canada's Algorithmic Impact Assessment (AIA) register. This is a listed-issuer dataset, not a public-sector or government-algorithm tracker. Framing it as federal/Crown/public-sector coverage is inaccurate.

- Trend tracking: watch AI and AI-risk language spread across Canadian public markets over time.

## Methodology

Signals are extracted from official-source documents (issuer-hosted reports and filed annual reports), not from press or social media. See the Methodology section on the site for extraction rules and limitations.
